Robert Kilroy
Dr. Robert Kilroy serves as an Assistant Lecturer in Art & Design Education at the Limerick School of Art & Design (LSAD), where he engages students in both theoretical and practical aspects of art education. His interdisciplinary approach integrates art history, psychoanalysis, and cultural theory, contributing to a dynamic and enriching academic environment at LSAD.
He earned his Ph.D. from Trinity College Dublin in 2016 with a doctoral thesis titled "Marcel Duchamp: Resolving the Word/Image Problem, Afterthought," which reexamines Duchamp's work within the broader context of word and image studies, employing psychoanalytic frameworks.
Dr. Kilroy is also a lecture at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, on the Master's program in History of Art and Museum Studies, as well as in the Department of Applied Foreign Languages. His association with Louvre Abu Dhabi includes significant contributions to its academic and curatorial programs. Notably, he participated in the "Abstraction: Transgressed, Transcribed, Digitalized" workshop, organized by the NYU Abu Dhabi Institute in collaboration with Louvre Abu Dhabi and Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi.
