Rose-Marie Ferré


Rose-Marie Ferré is the Head of Department at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi? She has been a lecturer in the history of medieval art at Sorbonne University since 2009, and is head of the professional Master 2 in 'Expertise and the art market'. She has been Vice-Dean of Professional Integration, Internships and Lifelong Learning since January 2022. Her research focuses on the parameters of artistic commissions, iconography and cultural transmission in the late Middle Ages, as well as the issues surrounding expertise, the art market and the French art of living. Collaborating closely with artists, she particularly focuses on bridging heritage with contemporary art. Rose-Marie Ferré's teaching extends both locally and internationally, catering not only to academic audiences but also engaging with broader public spheres. She also runs training projects that closely link the public and private spheres, with a commitment to promoting academic excellence. Her doctoral thesis titled "René d'Anjou et les arts. Le jeu des mots et des images" was published in 2009 among many other academic publications. More recently, she co-directed seminars on embroidery in the Middle Ages, the proceedings of which are to be published.
