Ben Thuy
Dr. Ben Thuy studied Earth sciences with a focus on palaeontology at the University of Tübingen, Germany, graduating in 2010. He then carried out his doctoral studies on the evolution of the deep-sea fauna at the University of Göttingen. After a short postdoc period in 2012, his professional career took a detour into the non-academic world, where he worked as a secondary school teacher and environmental engineer. In 2015, he then entered his current position as the palaeontology curator at the National Museum of Natural History (MNHNL) in Luxembourg. Apart from his duties as a senior researcher specializing on the fossil record and evolution of echinoderms, he co-supervises master and PhD students, leads excavation campaigns, curates the palaeontological collection of the MNHNL and engages in scientific outreach activities.
