Arwa Badran

Museum Education Consultant

Dr. Arwa Badran is an independent researcher and consultant on museums and heritage education. She holds a BA in Archaeology from the University of Jordan and an MA and PhD in museum studies from Newcastle University, UK. As a lecturer on museums at the Hashemite University, she contributed to developing the first degree in Cultural Resource Management (CRM) & museology in the Middle East. She also worked as a consultant on many heritage education projects and a trainer in Museum Studies in the Arab region.

Dr. Badran served as acting director and course tutor for the International Cultural Heritage Management MA program at Durham University, as well as research associate on the Arts and Humanities Research Council AHRC-funded project, “Learning from Multicultural Amman: Engaging Jordan’s Youth”. She has also held executive roles at the World Archaeological Congress for over a decade.
